Honey mustard is a unique and universal flavor that enhances most foods. Chicken is no different. You do, however, need to grill indirectly as the honey will burn.

Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken Breasts

Chicken breasts are easy, simply and wonderful

For those on a diet or for anyone seeking great flavor, this simple recipe will fill the bill on all accounts.  Make plenty as they can be frozen and used on a rainy day.

Let's begin with 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

  • 1/3 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon steak sauce
  • Salt as desired
  • Fresh ground black pepper as desired

Preheat your grill for medium heat.

In a shallow glass or stainless steel bowl, combine the mustard, honey, mayonnaise, and steak sauce thoroughly. Set aside about a third of the honey mustard sauce so you can baste the chicken during the grilling process and coat the chicken in the remaining sauce.

Place the chicken over indirect heat (away from the fire) for 18 to 20 minutes turning occasionally until juices run clear. If you have a meat thermometer, the internal temperature should read 160°.  Baste occasionally with the reserved sauce once the chicken is about 1/2 done.
